CRITICAL EDUCATION
Critical education is basically a stream or misunderstanding in education for the empowerment and liberation adaptation of paulo freire's educational philosophy education in understanding, this is as a medium of resistance and social change or transformation of the system structure of the social economic political and unjust thus critical education is a process of political struggle to curb the social imbalances that occur in communities such as the dominance of the elite class to lower middle class.
In discussing education issues in relation to the role of education as a social transformer there are two streams contained in the education.
The first stream is the flow of liberal which occurred in education today which adopts reproduction this group has the unfamiliarity that education has a role for social change towards social transformation they consider that education plays in the system of capitalism fatherly reproducing system not the delivery system a better alternative learners only serve to reinforce and perpetuate the existing system in the community.
The second stream is the flow that adopts radical production this group believes that education is able to create space for the growth of resistance and subversion of the dominant system do not give a clear space of learners to participate in the development of the educational process they are regarded as a bank for adherents of this understanding education always has aspects of liberation and empowerment which creates a new system is critical to the cultural and educational values that exist then reconstruct alternative system the education process is done through a process of liberating actions undertaken to raise awareness and critical learners thus learners have a clear space and the role of education as a viable container of social transformation the second stream is at the basis of critical educational tradition.
For adherents of critical education class inequality gender discrimination and various forms of social injustice such as cultural and political hegemony of the elite is a central issue arising from the education system is broken in the perspective of critical education the education process is a process of reflection and action praxis of learning objects human beings and the world reality that exists to perform the reconstruction process in a variety of practical and strategic action towards social systems are sensitive and non discriminatory.
The process of reflection and action praxis provide opportunities to the subject of education teachers and pupils to both have an equal role in changing the world and the reality gap thereby creating a critical attitude and creativity an understanding of the world the natural surroundings life and have a desire for changes.
Critical education process implies recycling actions and thoughts ongoing viable in the process stimulate education in the direction taken an action then the action is reflected back from the reflection and action is taken the better.
